Question HELP! Need to boot from CD but can't! - 06-30-2009, 05:43 PM

I have OSX and Win XP running dual-boot. It appears that I have malware on my XP partition and need to run a virus boot cd to clean it up.

When I boot the Mini 9 with my connected USB CD drive and bootable CD, it keeps taking me right to the Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132 - Chameleon v1.0.12 screen and it either wants to boot OSX or XP.

I have changed the BIOS to go from the CDROM first and have even tried the option 0 during bios boot and I keep ending back up at the screen above.

HELP! How do I boot from the CD?

I ran into this issue and the only way I was able toget it to work was to plub te drive in while XP is running so it gets recognized and then restart and boot from CD.

Did you disable USB boot in the bios after installing OSX? Maybe you need to enable USB boot.

One thing that helped me in a similar situation was disabling the SSD as a boot device in the BIOS. After I was done I re-enabled.
