Default mini 10v trackpad - 06-30-2009, 12:43 AM

Does anyone here have huge issues with the Trackpad on the Mini 10v on Mac?

Doing drag and drops is impossible using the left click on the trackpad as it is extremely jerky and jumps all over the screen.

Is there any way to disable the entire trackpad near the buttons along the right and left so the mouse isn't so jerky. I think the track is seeing two fingers touching the trackpad and when you try to reposition your finger to continue dragging, the pointer jumps. It is extremely annoying and the only issue I have with this awesome machine.

I hate how dell put the buttons of the mouse under the trackpad instead of separate buttons.

I'm also using the Trackpad drivers v17.

I agree, dragging and dropping with the 10v's trackpad is basically useless. I am using v18 of the trackpad drivers and while the two finger scrolling and basic mouse tracking is outstanding, they way dell designed this trackpad was a major mistake. I'll take two separate buttons any day over this poor design.

I resorted to using a mouse.

This was driving me crazy as well. I added some code to fix the jumpiness and it works much better on my machine now. I've given the patch to Meklort and he's going to look at it tomorrow and if he's happy with it he will include it in the next release.

It completely resolves the jerky mouse behavior, and makes drag and drop 'normal' even with the Mini 10v's integrated buttons.

In otherwords, be patient, a fix is on the way.

Sounds great, jayk. In the meantime I find that drag/drop works for me if I press the trackpad with the very tip of my finger (fingernails help) at the tip of the corner of the trackpad. It doesn't respond to fingernail presses so that could make it more liveable.
