Default Dell Billing - 05-02-2009, 04:54 PM

Kinda a beginners question here... I purchased the Vostro A90 when it was 199 and obviously am annoyed by the delivery etc but I can wait it out. I am confused though, because I thought Dell already billed me for it and just realized (almost two weeks later) that my credit card has not been billed yet. I've never ordered a Dell before so I don't know the proper sequence but it seemed to me at the time that I bought it that they were going to charge me immediately once it went into production. I have checked online and it still seems like my order is in production but I am confused by the billing issue and wanted some clarification if this is normal or not. Thanks in advance.

My experience is that they do not charge your card until the item is about to be shipped.

When I ordered my a90 Dell posted a pending charge on my CC immediately. The charge never converted from pending to an actual charge. I believe Dell does this as a check before orders go into production just to make sure the CC can swing the charge.

Hmm... thanks. Mine was never billed but it is "in production" so I guess Dell verified whatever they needed to. Thanks.
