Is that a good netbook?

It depends on what you want it for. The Mini 9 is the smallest, lightest and most expandable. The 10 and 12 have rotating hard disks and not SSDs. The 10 and 12 are, I think, limited to 1GB RAM, the 9 can take 2GB. Battery life will vary. For myself, thickness of the product is just one of many variables I would consider.

...The Mini9/A90 display is LED whereas the Mini12 uses old-school CCFL display with an inverter.

Mini 12 is good for me, but who know how it will be for you? We do not know your needs. Also, do not forget that Mini 12 size is much bigger then Mini 9.

Dell Inspiron Mini 12, 1.6 GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM, 40 GB HDD, 3 cell battery, MS Windows Vista.
Want to install internal WWAN modem, replace HDD with SSD or CompactFlash.
P.S. English it is not my native language, so, please, excuse me for its poor quality.
