Default Got info on the delay for ordering Mini 9's - 04-07-2009, 03:36 PM

After trying for a bit to cancel my order because of the long wait time, i decided to email my business rep i normally deal with (couldn't order it through him because of the OS) ... he let me know that the delay on Mini 9's right now is because of a backorder / backlog / long lead time for the Chassis it's self. So for a bit, no matter which you order. it will take a while for it to be built.

just sharing this in case you are waiting on one as well...

Finally was able to cancel my order by calling a number he gave me that is for order cancelation and modifications...

1-800-247-2076

had no hassle at all with canceling it, just told the person i wanted to cancel it because of the long lead time on the part. and it was canceled in less then 5 min.

(ended up picking up one off of ebay and it is already on the way to me)

its possible ...

'build status' ... basically means they have received your order and verified your payment option ... then they send it on to the factory as an order for it to be built ... it could sit at the factory in that status for a week or 3 depending on parts needed and such .. before it actually gets built ...

Ordered 4/7/09 and then reposted as another order on 4/9/09. Making it just about over a month that I am waiting.

I was told that the estimated delivery date is created by the "system" that Dell uses. :?

Customized with ALL the options! :geek:

Order Status: In Production

Estimated Delivery Date: 6/25/2009 <-about 3 months!

Yep, got two last week from the UK outlet. 1 4g for £90 and 1 8g for £130. Daughter can have the 8g to replace her bust eeepc, I'm modding the 4g for osx. Due on Tuesday.
