Default How do you delete a thread? - 03-22-2009, 07:23 PM

Can you delete a thread you've started? How do you do it?

phpBB software allows it IF the Admin has it setup to let a poster delete his own thread. If you see a little STAR at the top right of your post, you can click on that to delete it.

So that would be an administrative privledge that I would have to have as a user for ALL of my posts, or is it something that an admin would flag an indvidual thread as "this one's deleteable'? Does that make sense what I'm asking at all?

I would suggest asking a moderator to do it. You can do that by clicking on the "warning triangle" button, usually used to report spam and the like, and enter your request there. A moderator will handle it.

No - it's not an administrative privilege. In the setup of the phpBB software, there are a number of options the admin has to set permissions for users. I used to run a phpBB forum, so I am aware of this. I believe the admin has allowed users to delete posts, because I can delete mine using the star I see right next to the EDIT button on my messages. Since I am just a guest like everyone else, I don't have any special privileges, so the option should be available to all. I see the star in every post I create or reply to.

You're saying you DON'T see a star there?
