However, the solution doesn’t work on Intel N270 Atom processor since the chipset pairing solution are different with a 3-chip solution using 82945GSE and ICH7M targeted for nettop market.
The Mini 9 uses the N270 Atom.

Hello,

This solution would not work on a Dell Mini 9 but it can be implemented on the 10 and 12 which are based on the US15W chipset.

Best regards,

I used a bootable SD to upddate the BIOS on my mini9 of course it was through a card reader and not in the SD reader.

The Mini 9 uses the N270 Atom.
But the HP mini 1000 uses the N270 ... and you _can_ boot from the SD.
I know - because I owned one for a while. Hence I'm betting the card reader in the HP is set up differently than the card reader in the Dell.

I'd kill for the keyboard from the Mini 1000 with the Dell's battery life (sigh).

The HP mini's SD reader uses a USB interface internally. The Dell Mini 9 uses a proprietary interface, unfortunately.
