Default Trying to understand hierachy of Intel Atom processors - 02-27-2009, 11:54 PM

I am having difficulty understanding the hierarchy of Intel Atom processors.

On the dell.com website, it lists the following:

Mini 9
IntelĀ® Atom ProcessorĀ® N270 (1.6GHz/533Mhz FSB/512K cache)

Mini 10
IntelĀ®AtomĀ®Processor Z520 (1.33GHz/533MHz FSB/512K Cache)

Mini 12
IntelĀ®AtomĀ®Processor Z520 (1.33GHz/533MHz FSB/512K Cache)

From my very basic understanding of processors, it appears Mini 9 has the better processor since it has larger Ghz.

Do you guys have any guides that list the hierarchy of the Intel Atom processor? Perhaps a listing of what Intel Atom processors are out and their respective speeds? What are their current developments and future plans?

I tried Wikipedia but it seems too technical for me. Plus, I wasn't able to obtain any info regarding the "n270" or the "z520"

N270 is faster, but the Z520 supports virtualization, uses less power (half a watt may be not much, but it's a good percentage between 2 and 2.5), and is smaller (13x14 vs 22mm square.)
