Default "Windows Live"????? - 02-27-2009, 03:28 PM

I just ordered a Cherry Red, (From the Outlet), with Windows Live pre-installed. Exactly what is Windows Live? And do I want it on there or not?

Thanks,

From Microsoft.com
"Windows Live is a set of free tools that help you stay in touch, share with friends, and use the web more safely."

I don't know how useful it is to you but I know I true to minimize my windows installation so I have room for the apps I really want!

WarMachine,
Thanks for the response. This new Mini is coming w/XP Home on an 8gb SSD. I'll probably dump all but the essentials because this is going to be used primarily in my truck as a GPS display.

It was cheap, ($219), Red, and an impulse buy!

When you get your Mini you will see about five or six different items in Add/Remove Programs that will be related to Windows Live, including a Compact version of SQL Server 2008.

I removed all of these from a Mini 12 install I was building out for a client and noticed that the Mini 12 did boot faster afterwards, so if you don't need it, remove it!
