Default Canceled Dell order....went to eBay. - 02-20-2009, 10:12 PM

I got tired of delays. I called Dell and canceled my order. Found a "Previously Ordered New" Mini9 on eBay. Same exact Black 4GB/512 model that I ordered still sealed in the Dell box for $239 shipped. He probably picked it up during the run on the Outlet when the last coupon came out. It's $30 less than the Dell order and it actually exists. So hopefully I'll be up and running in a hot minute.

Also, my 32GB Runcore drive was sitting on my front porch this afternoon! wootsauce.

You actually got one of these runcore's? I was leaning heavily towards getting the model you have for my mini but its hard to justify putting in something so expensive that will only slightly improve performance on a simple purpose machine.

Yeah, getting the Runcore was a breeze. I ordered on Feb 9th when they were on backorder and in one of the threads in the upgrade section a guy named Matt, who I gather works for MDD, posted that they came in on the 18th and they'd be shipping out that day. I got mine on the 20th. Simple as cake.

As far as the Mini goes, I checked this guys feedback and people left him positive's only 2-3 days after purchasing, so given the weekend I suspect by Wednesday or Thursday because of the shipping time from TX to VA.

Believe me, the performance improvement with a Runcore is not slight. I ran mine for a week before replacing the stock STEC SSD with a Runcore - best investment for a mini. I have an iMac desktop and an Intel MacBook Pro - none of them come close to this upgraded baby for speed alone.

I have a hard time believing the read/write speed increase for a runcore is that noticeable, personally. I certainly don't think it justifies the ridiculous price they're asking for them. But ... "you pays your money ..."

Yep. Received it last Thursday. It took 4 business days from order to doorstep.
