Paid for a month of this Dell support after I got my Studio notebook but quickly found that these specialized techs are just as clueless as the outsourced foreign wasted IMHO...

BTW: Guy I spoke to was actually based at the call center in Florida and still couldn't help me get a Vista 64-bit upgrade...finally got the disc working through dell chat! :?

imo, i'd always prefer coming to forums like this one to see if someone can help me solve any issues. i just figure that the people on the phone or on the chat things are doing it cuz it's their job vs the people who respond here are doing it for the fun/joy of it..which easily translates into more enthusiasm and usually better results. so cheers to all our members!

Just to quibble. Apple's North American call centers are in Sacramento, CA, Austin, TX, someplace just outside of Toronto Canada and from time to time, India (though only to handle overflow and odd hours such as holidays to avoid paying NA employees overtime). I was an Apple tech support rep. I also think Apple could easily drop the premium prices to a more competitive level and really blow the competition away. Though I love my Mini 9.
