Keep an eye out for the program. I look forward to trying it out when he releases it in the next few days.

Edit: Here it is.

Reading through that page right now, but from the initial series of posts, it looks like this tool will be for overclocking the GPU, not the CPU. Still, if it works as planned, it will definitely be a nice boost for those who game on their Minis.

EDIT: I also wanted to mention that even if this app is released and does work as expected, you shouldn't expect to see any significant performance increase in video decoding ability. Hulu, YouTube, CoreCodec @ 1080p, etc (basically the ones where people are currently encountering stuttering) do not use hardware decoding acceleration, so they wouldn't be affected. These are limited by CPU processing power, which again, this app will not effect.

I just got my mini the other day, and haven't played around with much yet, so I don't actually know how fast/slow it is for gaming, but I will be adding this to my List of things to mess around with when it is out.

With higher clock speeds comes more processing cycles. With more processing cycles comes more duty and with that comes more heat. More heat in a passively cooled and space restricted notebook means problems. I am not so sure this is a good idea, at least for long term use in the Mini 9.

The GPU is the chipset.. You overclock the chipset by raising the bus speed.. You raise the bus and the CPU is going up along with it..

I'm quite possibly mistaken, but I believe the processor multipliers would change as the bus speed increases.

I'd rather prefer to underclock my Mini.
Saying it better: I'd like to have more AI in the Mini for using the power when it needs.
So, for a normal use, I wish to enlarge the gap between 1600 and 800 MHz of the automatic switch and, possibly, to have a selection among more than two frequencies.
Is there any Dell Mini designer ( :ugeek: ) hearing?

The heat increase should be minimal, because it does not raise voltages. That is where most of your heat increases come from.

Link to program added. Its $10.00 but has a 7 day trial period. Some people have had a little trouble installing, but for some it works good.

Cool. Downloaded a copy of it and will give it a try this afternoon. It should be interesting to see what it's doing re:bus speeds/multipliers. I'll be checking it out with CPU-Z to see if anything gets reported differently as the GPU gets cranked up. I do have to say that his use of depositfiles.com for hosting the download has me a bit nervous. The online scanner at jotti.org doesn't seem to see anything wrong with it, though.
