Seriously, if I had access to a laser etching machine I'd do something like this to my Mini. Its AWESOME.


Black Mini 9, 16 gig SSD, 1 gig of RAM, 1.3mpx webcam, bluetooth, Windows XP

I laser etched my Mini9.. Turned out pretty good.

This is totally sweet! I would do this!

So Unaclocker, the etching causes that blue tone to shine through or did you do something special to make it that color?

It's just a grey color, bit of a frosted look on the natural black plastic the lid is made of.

Ive seen companies that do this type of thing before when I was looking into metal business cards for my self, and the same machine can be used for etching cards, but the prices were rather high, even when getting 100 or even 500 (high, but worth it!) so what is the cost on a one off job like this?

My neighbor runs a sign shop, so I got a homey hook-up.. I think I gave him $20 for it.. heh..

Hmmm, looks like I had better start asking around, I'm sure I know someone with access to a laser etcher, going to art school and all I have a variety of friends that have access to embroidery machines (very cool what these things can do) and cnc mills and the like.
