Now that the Dell store has stopped selling Mini:s and an era is over (?), its time for me to confess: I have been a dellminiholic.


Dell Mini 9, 12, 10v and 1012

I have most models and still use them on a daily basis.


all have custom lids

The reason why I love them so much is the fact that they are fanless - one of the very few laptop models that are.

I have replaced all harddrives with SSD making them 100% soundless.

They are all running on different OS such as WinXP, Ubuntu and MacOsX (10v)


Mini 1012 with 1366x768 screen and a 3g modem fitted in a (rare) wwan slot

I have to say that my favourite model is the Dell mini 12 - but the 10v with MacOsX and the 1012 with 1366x768 screen is close behind.

Next year we are going to see netbook models with cedar trail and there is probably going to be some fanless models from other manufacturers, so unless Dell makes a new mini-model with cedar trail, I guess i have to change brand (if/when im getting a new one)

I also have a mini or 4 I should say; 2 10V's one with MacOSX and the other with Win7. 2 Mini 9s with MacOSX on one and I run Joli OS. Said to see the end of an era.
