Having read the Forun over the Years here is a suggestion that will work.
If you have a Dell Netbook 910, mini 9, Vostro A90 (same machines) log onto Dell.com go to support, type in the service code of the machine.
Then look at the left side, go to configureation.
The screen willask if You want to extend the warantee.
Price is $70.00 for One Year.
The only item not covered is the Battery if You purchase the warantee.
You then get Voice support and repair, providing that you have not played with the Netbook.
If You have a 1012 or any member of that series I thing the price is $100.00 plus.
The Mini 9 series should never have been manufactured and it seems that Dell Knows it.
So far 4 of the series and each netbook had:
Mother Board Replaced
Hard Drive Replaced (
ssd)
Screen Replaced
Charger Replaced
And others.
Suggestion.
Go to Dell.com
Register the Netbook, but be careful, scrol down and register under Retail Sale.
Then get the Extended Warantee.
Call Tech Support, tell them the problems.
They will do the Depot repair (if you have not played around in the machine) send the box Fedex.
Fix it and send it back.
Hope that this helps, By the way there is a sem-conductor on the board that does short out.
It is designed for a 4 cell battery. be advised larger cell batteries may cause problems.
