Unhappy how to format my dell latitude 2100 - 10-05-2010, 04:20 AM

Hello friends,

I own a DELL latitlude 2100, it has been infected with virus, so i cannot open command prompt, device mgr, services ... etc etc ...which is why i wanted to format my laptop. But because there is no CD ROM on my laptop I am clueless as to how to do it! I have also tried the USB version, wherein the installation starts with the command prompt window starting... but because my laptop is infected with virus... it automatically shuts it down(the command prompt)even before the installation could start.

Please some one tell me a way to format my laptop WITHOUT having to purchase an external CD ROM.

Thanx in advance!

the USB flashdrive will work fine....I used this exact utility to load Win XP Pro and Windows 7 on my Mini 10 and I now dual boot both of them
you can use this utility to load any version of Windows on to a USB stick

RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

instructions are here:

WinSetupFromUSB – Install Windows XP from USB Flash Drive «

you can also select Vista or Win 7 also just make sure you click on "bootable" then also click on "rmprepusb" to get to the second screen

after you create the USB flashdrive....make sure that you also go into the BIOS on the Mini and enable the boot options for "Legacy USB" to boot to the Flashdrive
