Default ??Scammer in our mist?? - 04-28-2010, 12:52 AM

I had to post this as I am concerned about something.
I recently looked at the sell thread Posted by new forum member "CoCo".
Dell [200$] Mini 10v/160GB/1GB RAM/WinXP + CD/Black
I contacted Forum member "CoCo" via PM and this is the PM exchange.
"Ish05-I am looking for a netbook for my mom and you posted a good deal on your 10v. I'd like to buy it off you if you are still selling it. My only concern is that everything is working good and it hasn't been too beat up.
" CoCo response-It's like new but i only accept wu, libertyreserve and webmoney(wmz) sorry if you use paypal then there is many good deals too "
Anyway, I looked into LibertyReserve and it seems there is a lot of scams associated with this service.
CoCo, if you are a stand up fellow, then please understand my concern.

User CoCo connected from Latvia. That in itself may not be a problem, though PayPal does support Latvia. If you are uncomfortable, then don't buy.

Maybe someone else can benefit from the offer.
Sorry about the suspicion. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

That's fine, I learnt the hard way, no to do electronics through paypal in other countries, as the "buyers protection" really only applies if you're purchasing something within the same country.

Please do not send me support requests via PM.

If it sounds too good to be true. It usually is.

Just spotted this. I eBay a lot & I can tell you that PayPal protection applies across borders but does have a time limit, usually 45 days. It's all laid out in their help section plus you could phone them if need be.

Those other modes of payment I wouldn't trust.

It's so easy to set up a Paypal account I wonder why Coco hasn't done that. It would settle a lot of doubts. Maybe they don't have a bank account although I find that rather weird.
