A co-worker sent me this. I'm not sure if it works or not but I'm sure someone will give it a try.

it seems that not too many options are available yet for the 1012.but I guess its an ok price if you want a basic system, personally the HD audio is kinda not worth it without the HD 1333x768 screen

HD audio isn't an option, it's what Realtek calls their onboard audio chips nowadays. The audio quality also has nothing to do with the screen resolution

1024x600 isn't what I'd call lousy for a 10.1 display And you can't swap out the audio chip. It's what the onboard is called, you have HD audio, I have HD audio, everyone on this site has HD audio

This is almost like a Mini-Drama:

On 04/16/10 updated bios on mini 1012 to A 07, aka X24. hours later I am installing a software program and the system dies......after 20 minutes with DELL online tech..they say ..MOTHERBOARD failure.......

On 04/21/10.....Dell authorized TECH arrives at house and replaces MOTHERBOARD of my Dell MINI 1012.......

Starts right up and>>>>IT is the upgraded motherboard with the PCIE slot for the BROADCOM HD Card....
