Default Nokia Booklet 3G - 12-02-2009, 03:39 PM

One of my clients just bought one of these and dropped it off with us to have software loaded and configured.

Out of the box, you'd swear Apple built it. Aluminum body, chiclet keyboard that's nicely spaced and responsive. Typical selection of ports except for Ethernet, which is missing.

Minuses: the speakers are a little soft, Z-series Atom, only 1GB of RAM (no ports to upgrade), hard drive seems a little pokey. The keyboard and top are fingerprint magnets.

Pluses: All metal body, big battery, wiiiide screen (1280x720 I think)

The screen alone makes me want one, but not for $700.

I've never been a fan of chicklet keyboards... guess they bring back bad memories of computing in the early 1980s.

I've been keeping an eye on this, looks very nice, certainly a decent entry model for Nokia.

However the specs are extremely similar to the Mini 10, even the speakers are in prett much the same place!

After two days with it, it's not for me. Slow hard drive is slow. It's like the Mini 12 all over again.

I liked the look of these when I first saw them. But I'm irked by the fact that it looks like the tackpad and keyboard are squished up near the screen as far as they can go, leaving an abnormally large palmrest.
