Default Could I suggest a Subforum on Dual booting? - 10-01-2009, 07:52 PM

There seem to be a whole lot of threads in a whole lot of places on dual booting. Bmclure - what do u think about adding a subforum to organise it a bit?

and btw many thanks for your input as well as meklort, mechdrew and others, this is an amazing resource!!!

I could definitely mention this to Dunhamzzz and create some discussion on it for the moderators... this may not be a bad idea to keep things more organized, but we will see what the general consensus is.

Do we really need a whole forum on that topic? Perhaps a FAQ or guide would do.

It seems like it would be very appropriate. Subforums do not hurt anything... in my opinion it makes it easier to find topics and also keeps pertinent information categorized into the correct section.

It seems as if there are always questions flooding the OSX subforums regarding dual-boot and this is not necessarily relevant to the other discussions. If there was a dedicated subforum I think it would be easier for those who have knowledge about dual booting to share with those who have questions about it.

On top of that, there are so many different methods, bootloaders and partitions schemes to consider when dual booting operating systems that a subforum dedicated for this topic would surely have a lot of information.

Just my $0.02. I think it would help keep the OSX forums a tad more refined! (and it would help with those dual-booting Windows and Linux as well)
