Default Asus Eee 904HA - 10-04-2008, 09:21 PM

The new Asus Eee 904HA is almost available to buy.

Specs:
Intel Atom 1.6ghz
1 GB RAM
160GB HD
Windows XP
8.9" screen 1024 x 600
4 cell battery and normal WiFi

The only difference between this and the other Netbooks out there, in general, is that this has a 160GB Hard Drive. Its does not have an Solid-State drive (SSD) like some of the other Netbook PCs.

IMHO,
some of these new systems are going away from what I see the netbook as.
why do need a 160 gig drive. This is getting in to the teority of being a normal system.

If Asus had stuck with the original look of the Eee instead of adding a rolling pin for a hinge, these might not be too bad, if you ignore their lack of tech support and their insistence that resellers don't accept these back "for any reason."

They did the same thing to me with my Eee 701. After a day or so, they would just close my case which is the equivalent of hanging up the phone. When I tried to get an RMA from the reseller, I was told that they had an agreement with Asus to not accept them back "under any circumstances." I filed a complaint with BBB, since that's not what their site said, then sold it on eBay and took an $80+ loss. The experience made me more careful of who I purchase from and what I buy. Even a $300 purchase should have a better result than that. I've been waiting for Dell since then.
