Default Details on Samsung's ION Netbook - 08-19-2009, 12:06 AM

Samsung Ion Netbooks Might be Too Expensive - Tom's Hardware

I do agree that its about 100 bucks too much, especially considering one will probably want to pay more to max out the RAM and HDD, which I doubt are included at that price.

I do think it is far too pricey for a netbook. I also think that netbooks may have started out as low cost alternatives to notebooks, but for people like me they have grown into a great portable platform for business and personal travel. I would be willing to pay $500 or less. If $599 is MRSP you should be able to pick one up for $500 or less after a few months of its release.

The ION platform could change the way people look at netbooks.

I hope ION's netbook debut motivates AMD to get in the "small notebook" business a little more (I say it that way, because AMD dosent want to get into "netbooks").

The HP DV2 is a good example of this, with the Yukon (Athlon Neo) platform, but we need to see more of it and with more options.
