Default Cleaning Day!! - 11-24-2008, 04:48 PM

OK, so we all know that our Mini 9 cases (and I assume Mini 12s as well) are fingerprint magnets -- so what do you use to clean the fingerprints off?

thanks,

~jeff

I just randomly do a relatively vigorous rubbing with a soft cotton rag. That gets it pretty decent. And I'm not aiming to get it back to 100% 'cause it's gonna happen all over again in very short order.

I must say, I don't understand the recent rush on glossy laptop cases.

Klear Screen product does a great job on the Mini LCD, and the case itself. I've been using it for years on my LCD screens, mice, and keyboards. I tried it on the Mini 9's black lid and it helps future clean ups. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't make it fingerprint proof. I am no fan of gloss finishes. My computer desk has a glass top with the underside painted black. Talk about a dust and fingerprint magnet.

I use the same cloth that comes with pairs of glasses on pretty much all glossy electronics which keeps them free of finger-prints (for a while).

I've got a mix of 1 part distilled water, 1 part rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle.

Spray a microfiber cloth (I got a bundle of them at Wal-Mart for $1 USD in the automotive section) with the solution, and rub down the mini with that.

Damn cheap and easy. Gets rid of the fingerprints and smudges in a flash.

I would use the LCD cleaner things every day to clean the fingerprints... then I got tired of doing that and I painted the lid with the rubbery red paint stuff!
