Default SSD Garbage Collection Scheme - 08-10-2009, 09:18 AM

Hello all,

I have just read this and it sounds interesting for those of us who feel concerned about the Read/Write performance of our SSD along time...

Some SSD manufacturer has been able to include in the SSD firmware a tool that cleans-up while disc is idle. Looks like benchmarks are good looking and r/w speeds can achieve brand new specs after some extended idle time (extended is apparently 1h, which is acceptable for me).

When could we have this on our Runcore drives? Do Runcore drives allow firmware updates?

...ah, so many questions and so little answers...
