Default Counter Strike Source and other Gaming? - 10-24-2008, 07:17 AM

No luck on the search functions so here goes:

Anyone able to play counterstrike source on this guy? Also, any luck with other games (I'm not a WoW fan, and yes I've seen the video of it working). I just wanted to know in case I happen to be in the library and need a break from studying. I have a gaming PC at home, so something minor like CS:S would do me fine. My mini won't be here for a while now (ordered it a few days ago) so I just want to see what is available before it gets here.

Thanks,

MechE

counter-strike-t21.html

I gave CS:S a go at installing but couldn't get it to run, I think the mini just isnt powerful enough to run it. The older versions of the games work though, CS 1.6 and CS CZ both run perfect for me.

Thanks, for the info. I'll probably put on the old diablo's then.

I installed Source through steam, and i got it to run, just at like 5 fps.

If anyone could make an autoexe.cfg it would run better

I got Half-life 2 to run. All lowest settings and the screen resolution set at 800x600 and DX8 forced from the command line. I installed on a SD card.

The game played, but two problems:

1) Compared to my 24" display and GTX280 at home, this was too blurry for me to play. YMMV
2) Minor lags here and there. This might be improved if you install to the actual HDD and not the SD card, but would probably not improve enough to play online games where speed is king.
Again YMMV.

Just got done playing some CS 1.6 on my Mini 9... Works great. I like it very much! Although, because it only runs in software mode, I couldn't play full screen at 1024x600. I played windowed at 640x480, and it still looked great. The screen isn't all that big anyways. LOL. I play CS 1.6 in a 640x480 in a window while I work sometimes. LOL.
