So I tried running wow on my new mini 12, and even with all of the graphics settings down to their lowest it is still terri-bad/unplayable. Most of the models (characters and trees and such) don't render properly, and the frame rate drops to ~1 fps in populated areas. Anyone know where to get the latest video drivers for this thing on the intel site? I have the latest on the dell site, but those usually lag behind the hardware manufacturers.

I want to bring up this point at everybody that runs Warcraft at a seemingly fast rate on the Mini. Warcraft has undergone several transformations since it's release in 2004.

1. All videos being shown of Warcraft on the mini usually have been in "Vanilla Warcraft". Original Warcraft without any flying such as in Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. This is the reason why framerates are better there and not at all even shown or decent in Dalaran.

2. Warcraft keeps getting updated by Blizzard, however, they don't want to totally isolate their old customers with low level computers, that's why there wasn't a full graphics overhaul of the old content (ie, realtime shadows optional).

3. Also it depends on the speed of your SSD or SDHC card or SATA/EIDE drive via USB....

I'm planning to release a set of videos showing WoW being run in Orgrimmar, Shat and Dalaran. That way people will understand how it really performs differently in each area. Not just a 20 second vid showing it works!

To me, WoW still looks decent with all settings at min, except draw distance and spell detail. So, I'd imagine it still be reasonable, apart from raids obviously.

I'll be upgrading to a runcore 32gb or similar next month, but in meantime, your vids will be much apprciateed while I await delivery!

To be honest though, I'll be happy if it allows me during the day to simply load my characters at dalaran, who will only move between bank and mailbox, and my bankers at TB, who will move tween AH and bank. That's it. Got my main uber-PC for nighttime raiding...

EDIT: Just ordered 2GB RAM, to make things a little smoother, especialys as I use a few addons. The Runcore (best performing I think) HD's seem out of stock, but don't mind waiting. I'll put my WoW onto a 500MB Ext USB2 HD in meantime.

OK, here's me flying over Dragonblight. With changes to view distance (makes the biggest difference) and other settings at lowest it's decent. Using ext WD500 for the moment, with 2GB RAM, on OS X.

Here's me in the DK startin area - that part of it is really short, as I was showing my non-mac friend a few things too, as she's ordered one, and I'm taking care of getting her new OS X onto it.

Dalalag, I mean Dalaran, as with any non-cutting edge machine is still laggier than you would like, but you don't fight there so it's relatively unimportant. For a bit of auctioning, herbing, skinning, levelling, mining, it's up to the tast, if you put everything on lowest settings, and if you're outside, put view distance up a little from minimum.

Nice, seems a little quicker than mine - wonder is it coz you're 800x600, instead of 1024?

Possibly, it might be because I'm running next to nothing in my nlited version of Windows XP.

Here's my video of me running around Burning Crusade as well:
