Default Netbook LAN parties? - 02-11-2010, 02:15 AM

I was wondering if anybody has ever heard of one, or been to one?

I've been dreaming about doing this for months.
Get a group of people together and go to one of the local bars..........annex a couple of tables......play Starcraft with our little devices . Would be even better if it were a regular thing (like every Friday night).

Not really. I've heard of LAN parties for WoW, cod, counterstrike, everquest, etc but netbooks generally aren't part of them.

Of course I am not against the idea of it!!!

I think it would be kinda fun. A LAN party with a "tiny computer" theme

As opposed to highe(er) end desktop PCs and monitors, everybody brings netbooks and whatever other relevant gear (game controllers, portable drives, power strips, etc). I'm sure Tournaments would be a riot.

Not a LAN Party by a great degree at all, but I often take my Mini9 to a mates' house and usually play Medieval Total War, Teeworlds, Age of Empires II, Dawn of War over LAN.

When I LANed regularly and had an HP Mini Note, I took it with me all the time and watched videos on it while I gamed on my main rig. It was also nice to have to surf the net and whatnot in between matches.
