Default Counter Strike - 09-19-2008, 06:34 PM

Even though I havn't bought the laptop for gaming, I thought I would give it a run on really the only game I grew up playing, the Counter Strike series.

Counter Strike 1.6

Very quick game to download, loads quickly and have no problems playing online. Pretty good fps, nice smooth play.

Counter Strike - Condition Zero

Again pretty quick to download if you already have 1.6 installed as it uses the same game engine. Loads fast, game play I have found to get a bit of an fps drop in places, but not that often where it ruins the game play.

Counter Strike Source

No supprises here unfortuantly, long download as expected, eats up alot of disk space, game gets into the loading screen where you see the css background, but then goes into a black screen and stays there. It was asking a lot for that game to run, i've got a few more ideas so will give them a try and report back if anything works.

you still need a keyboard + mouse tho and preferably an external monitor :P

Unless you have tiny hands of course!

How did you get CS 1.6 to run so well? I usually get 20FPS with OpenGL and D3D and Software Mode makes the server selection box huge. I'm using XP Home, 2GB of Corsair, and the standard STEC 8GB SSD.
