If you plan to run OS X, you really really should buy a copy from Apple. The price is very reasonable, it's obviously a great OS, and deserves the small price they charge for it. Once you do that, you'll have a retail copy. |

| Junior Member Posts: 15 Join Date: Oct 2008 | I'm trying to use this method to dual boot XP and OSX on a 16gb SSD. 5gb to windows, and the rest to OSX. Not too bad, OSX has about 2GB free and windows has about 2GB free. Here is the problem. With this method, leopard will not install unless the partition is GUID. XP Will not install GUID, it needs to be MBR. It's my understanding that OSX can be installed MBR, but it's not letting me. It has a big red mark over the drive and says format GUID to fix. How, using this method, do I install OSX MBR? Also, for those of you wondering about my lack of free space, I'm going to do an internal mod with a 32gb ssd. 32gb is enough for a few movies and programs etc.... |

Any ideas? Thanks again, and to everyone wondering if they should install OS X on their Dell Mini, go out and buy the retail copy and do it, it's amazing. (I even took an Apple sticker from the box and covered up the Dell logo on the lid to create the perfect MBnano.) ![]() | |

However this never kept me from getting QE to work just thought it was more complete. Smoothy Boothy on the other website said that IOPCIFamily helped him with the problems so I added it. I already had IOGraphicsFamily so I did not change that. Again I don't see the issue but I am thinking this will have a good shot at fixing it for others. Let me know how it goes. Also from the other thread if you already install my way and do not have QE then downlaod this new iso, mount it, and mount install.dmg and rerun miniscript this hopefully fixes it Again let me know everyone! |

| Junior Member Posts: 19 Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: San Diego, CA | Just wondering, but would doing a fresh install of the kexts possibly help my problem with OS X not always booting up on the first try? I have another question... so far I've tried installing a couple of utilities (Coolmaster, Sidetrack, etc.) and upon re-booting, I get an error message telling me that the extension was not installed, and I need to reboot. No matter how many times I reboot, always get this message and software is unusable. Any ideas? |

I like this method, and plan to go this route when my 32gb SSD arrives.
