I dont' have a Mac but plan to use <link to bootleg copy of OS X deleted> to build my hackintosh. I have a dell mini 10v. Can I use this without DiskUtility. Using Transmac or ImageWriter for windows? and boot from my external HDD?

Why not just spend the twenty five quid and buy the DVD, then follow Mechdrew's NBI Guide 2 (Google this: NetbookInstaller 2: USB Mac Installation via Any Operating System)

The guide also helpfully explains why you should use the retail version and not download it.
