Angry I think A03 did give 128MB VRAM Max! - 12-29-2008, 10:21 PM

I was doing a bit of digging on the Atom processor and noticed that in a few cases, people had to choose "Load System Defaults" after a BIOS update to see VRAM changes. I updated to A03 a few days ago and the intel applet showed *8Min/64Max" for graphics memory. I decided I'd give reload system defaults a shot in teh BIOS and now I have 8 min / 128 Max.

Could someone else on A03 give it a shot and see if you get the same??

Forgot to mention I'm also running 2GB RAM. Screen shot of the Intel Properties attached.

I flashed to the A03 BIOS a few days ago and then checked the Intel properties under the control panel applet and I had the previously mentioned Max of 64MB RAM. Then today I went into the BIOS settings as the Mini booted and chose to Load defaults. I hadn't changed anything previously there but as I mentioned, I saw another thread that mentioned not being able to see the additional VRAM available until the system defaults were re-loaded in teh BIOS.

When I booted into Windows, I launched the applet again and this time i had 128MB as my max.

I'm on A03 and mine also shows 128MB of max VRAM under the Intel applet and DXDiag. I always do a load from default after a bios update so I'm not sure what it was before.

Well, is anyone noticing any difference in loading pages, etc., because of the change? :?:

I can confirm this.... Before loading default options in BIOS , DXDIAG and Intel Video properties showed 64Mb Max... After both show 128 mb Max.
