Posted this elsewhere as may not be relevant: but then, as it seems to crash at the bootloader bit, it may just be.
New 0.8.4pre install crashes on reboot
clamder: Yes, my F1 key caused me problems, but nothing a straight forward reboot didn't sort. Didn't have a chance to check the Sleep behaviour before it all went wrong
I lost my sound output. In the sound prefs, it said that no output device was found. I ran NBI 0.8.4pre and rebooted... and I've not been able to get back into SL since. Won't get past the grey apple/spinning wheel screen - although it does display a small no-entry style/prohibited icon over the apple. I'm guessing it's trying to display the NBI icon, but could well be wrong.
I'm new to this - tonight was my first attempt. Everything was going perfectly too. I'm unsure at this point whether it's an install problem, or something to do with the new NBI.

Just got a new 10v for a friend and had an issue with my old install USB, was running NMB 0.8.2 and the BIOS on the new machine is A06.
So I downloaded NBM/NBI 0.8.4pre and recreated the USB with the newer version.
Everything worked without a hitch, easy to install and no errors. Now came the big test after I had installed SNL 10.6, I ran the NBI 0.8.4pre and then the dreaded Software Update.
I just let the auto updater run for OSX and upgraded to 10.6.2, after the upgrade I did see the NEW NBI icon as it now auto runs after an update. All went as planned and I was running 10.6.2 already.
Next, Software Update ran again and looked to hang during the installation. But after a while (10 to 15 minutes it seemed) the machine rebooted and I'm all up to date.
No errors or KP's, AWESOME!!!
All in all everything worked and the only thing that I could find that didn't work was the About This Computer. So I just ran the script for that.
Thanks again Meklort!!!

Chameleon is always quiet booting
I can't figure out how to make it so that I can enter -s or -v when booting.
I tried running the NetBookInstaller twice once with quiet boot disabled and once with it enabled. No Dice.
I downloaded chameleon and looked at the docs. Then I manually added Quiet Boot No to the boot.plist file.
Note that this has been doing this since before I tried this .8.4.
Any ideas? Here are the contents of my com.apple.Boot.plist file

another n00b question...
I just upgraded NBI 0.8.4 Pre from NBI 0.8.3 Final and it worked without any trouble.
Since I created my hackbook with NBM 0.8.3, is it important to "re-do" the install with NBM 0.8.4? Or am I good to go with just the NBI updated?
Had a happy 10.6.6 machine and updated to 10.6.7, but no love...maybe I'll do a vanilla install...but probably not.

after trying this great Installer :
1. Nice didn't screw up Win7 boot
2. little anoying with "press any........" in chameleon
3. ElliotForceLegacyRTC.kext <-- in Mini10Ext folder, what we need this ?, since DSDT can fix cmos reset
4. VoodooPowerMini.kext not included (why?)
5. SMBIOS.plist not include, MacbookAir smbios.plist will be nice (why?)
btw this great job, thanks.
sorry my poor english

2: Enable Quiet Boot, that'll fix that. If you want to boot into Windows hold down the Alt key as it boots, you can pick a drive then (Windows or OS X). If you don't hold down the key it'll just boot straight into OS X.
3: I deleted that kext, no problems found
4: Some people claim to have issues with it, but I've never had a problem with it on any of my netbooks (Dell Mini 9, Mini 10v, and HP Mini 311)
5: I'd be a nice addition if it doesn't already have it (no idea, never bothered to look)
