EVERYTHING HAS BEEN SOLD. It has been awhile since posting on this site, as my Dell mini 9 has treated me well! I have recently purchased a new netbook and no longer need this one (wanted windows again to be able to print with our wireless printer setup, and longer battery life). I purchased the mini 9 about a year ago directly from dell with their Ubuntu remix. Since then I have kept up with the current Ubuntu releases, and the netbook is currently running version 9.10. A few notes about the current 9.10 Ubuntu OS: The card reader is functioning properly under this version (had problems with one SD card under 9.04). I have also properly setup Wifi nder 9.10. The only problem with 9.10 (as can be found on the forum) is the error notification of the drive failing. This has only to do with the operating system, the SSD drive is functioning properly (and aside from the occasional error message there are no other problems with it in normal use). I will run a clean install of the OS before shipping, and if you prefer can revert to 9.04. The original dell ubuntu OS discs are included, however I don't have a portable DVD drive for re-installing, so either 9.04 or 9.10 are the only options I can offer. Cosmetically, the mini 9 is in overall excellent shape, the only sign of use are some minor scuffs on the top of the case (I can link to a photo later today if someone expresses interest). AC adapter is of course included as well, and this is a 3 cell battery version - with ubuntu I am able to get about 3-3.5 hours of use on a single charge. I am going to re-install the 512mb ram that originally came with the mini 9 - with this ram I will send shipped via USPS priority mail (within 1 day of receiving payment), insured for a total of $140.00 (paypal fees are also included in that price - actual shipping costs are about $13.00 out of the $140.00). I am shipping to the US only, and payments are accepted only through paypal to a confirmed address. (local pickup with cash only in the Twin Cities are of Minnesota as well). If you are interested in the 2gb ram I have been using (it is a G.Skill 2gb 200-pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) memory stick (with heatsink) which sells by itself on newegg for $51 shipped. I will sell it for an additional $30, for a total of $170.00 shipped/insured via USPS for both the netbook and 2gb ram (you will get both ram sticks, with the 2gb installed). |
