Default Mac OS X cant be installed on this computer - 12-23-2009, 03:26 PM

Hi there, just got my mini 10v and am trying to set up dual operations systems (OSX 10.6.2 and Windows 7) i have followed the guides but after partitioning the hard drive and booking up from the OSX USB to install it it comes up with the message "Mac OS X cant be installed on this computer"

i am booting from the CD which came with my 27" iMac

does anyone know what i have done wrong or what i can do to get ti to work please.

Thanks

You need to use a retail disk, not the grey oem disk.

or does anyone know where i can download a valid OSX i can use? ive just spent over £2000 with apple so i dont really want to shell out for an aditional copy of osX as well.

Torrenting is bad. $30 is really not that much. They could charge you $130. Go buy it.

i could do with doing this now really. dont want to wait for online delivery and christmas/new year postage.

managed to download an .iso of 10.6 but cant get it to restore to the drive. i have tried with a .dmg also and get the same results.

if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it. (without purchasing the software)

Thanks
