In that case Matt, you'll have to re-install Windows Xp Home on the system and check Battery status. As I see from the records, the system has been shipped with 32W/HR, 4-CELL BATTERY.
I am sorry, but i am not trained on Ubuntu Operating System. It could be an issue with the Ubuntu not able to show correct properties on Battery.

That's a good idea. Someone with a digital postal scale should be able to see a difference.
