Try booting with -f to get the OS to ignore the cache files. You can also add -v (verbose) to see if there are problems. If you do manage to boot to the desktop, from the File menu in the Finder choose open Directory (I think, I'm booted into Win 7 now) and type /Extra and you should see the UpdateExtra app which is what you want to run. Now you'll have the proper extensions cache and a reboot in normal mode should hopefully work.

Yeah, I figured that's why running in normal after a Safe Boot NBI was very poor quality. boot -f would create the same problem while I was having issues. The only thing that seemed to work was installing Final while booted in normal mode after loading in Safe Boot previously.

Have RC5 running, and dropped voodoo power mini back in and I noticed something ... (actually two...)

first, UpdateExtra does not do volleyball any more, only the spinning wheel. This is with mouse over window, not outside. Is this expected?

I noticed a HUGE wifi signal boost with speedstep vs without. I have only used my home network. Any logic behind this?
