Mini 10V w/ Win XP is currently not available to customize on dell.com as of 4pm pst 12/17. They only have 10v w/ ubuntu and 10 available on dell's website. Can anyone confirm if 10v is discontinued or it's just not showing on their freaky website?

I have seen no announcement that it is discontinued, but I do expect a replacement to be announced next month.

Probably discontinued the XP version and are updating to just Windows 7.

but i have windows 7 on mine, and it is kinda slow even with drivers from the dell support website. They shouldn't upgrade to that.

The 11z will probably be the temporary replacement until they put out one or two more mini models

I wouldn't expect anything new until Intel releases their new processors, I think that Pinetree (or whatever) is history but the have a new Moonstone (or whatever) can't remember the names, supposed to be coming out...someone I am sure will correct the names for me, but I don't think anything will happen until those new processors are out...just my 0.02....

I'm so glad I got my Mini 10v with Windows XP on it.. It's just much more compatible with all my older hardware. ie: My Scanner/Printer, my 'external' USB CD and DVD drives etc. PLUS! - It really is *very* fast (for a netbook). I think if I had gotten Win 7, it would have been a lot slower.

Plus, it was the "Starter" Edition.. I didn't like the sound of that. I could only imagine having 1,000 updates "Right out of the box"! Nah! - I went for the "Tried & True".

I read somewhere that, Apple is not happy with the Dell 10v's ability to run MacOS-X. So, Dell has agreed to make some "tweek" in the hardware so MacOS will not install on it...

But, I also heard there's a "fix" for it already!

Are you referring to the 10.6.2 update? cause that was a little while ago, and the good people here have already sorted that out.... hopefully NBI rc5 will be a christmass girft to us all

i have windows 7 ultimate on my 10v and it runs faster than xp. i also have 7 premium on my 9 and it runs great too.

Does not seem to be available from the dell U.S. site, so hoping for a new netbook or is it just a bug?
