Like many here, had no audio after this, but all (speakers, headphones, mic.) is well after an additional reboot. Boot time is 68 +/- 2sec from power button 'til solid wifi. Airport express is about six feet away, so signal strength is maxed out. This is within 2-3 sec. of what I got with 10.6.1/RC3. It takes about another 10-15 sec. for my BT mouse to link up, which is the same as with 10.6.1 and RC3. As I started out with 10.6.0, I can't speak to the screen appearance differences compared to 10.5.8. Many thanks to Tea and, as always, the incredible Meklort! I know you guys have real jobs, so I wonder, do you ever sleep? edit 1: Geekbench 1029 27" iMac|2.8 i7|8GB|2 TB|10.6.2/WIN 7 Pro - Gorgeous! |

Otherwise all looks well, even though I did just get a freeze screen (you know, the "You must reboot" in 20 languages screen). Hoping that's not a common thing in 10.6.2.... Proof: |

I have to hold the power button down to kill it, then tap the power button for a reboot. A90 A04 bios 10.6.1 .8.3 RC4. Speakers work fine though. |

Full sound support on the Mini 9 is the only thing keeping me from upgrading.... http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/gene...tml#post118329 http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/gene...tml#post118360 |

| Junior Member Posts: 22 Join Date: Feb 2009 | Wanted to say that all is perfect with .8.3 RC4 and 10.6.2 on my Mini 9 using Meklort's instructions. Sound works as it did on 10.6.1, no probs w/ sleep or otherwise. Boot time is identical, and my Geekbench score was actually improved slightly from before and is now 1000. Thanks for all your work. |

Font changes coming to Mac OS X Snow Leopard (Updated) - Ars Technica It appears Snow Leopard has dropped the option to change the font smoothing settings, and now defaults to the "medium" setting. Maybe some other users have changed the default setting in Leopard to improve the view of fonts. On the colour profile question does anyone have any recommendations? I'm running 10.6.2 on my 10v and have noticed that when watching movies on the screen the "blacks" are a bit grey, unless I turn the brightness right down which then seems to affect the contrast. I'm using the default colour profile. Someone mentioned using the Dell mini profile which I've just tried and it seems to improve things slightly for movie watching but seems to make the white's a bit less white. Any other recommendations? ---------- Post added at 09:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:11 PM ---------- Quote:
I am running 10.6.2 with 0.8.2 RC3 (and so I'm running the 10.6.1 kernel). My system seems stable so far (over a week of various usage) and everything works - sleep, sound after sleep, restart etc. Are there any benefits in running the 10.6.2 kernel over the 10.6.1 kernel? | ||
