After running the NetbookInstaller it worked. I'm a happy camper. Thank you.

Things seem to be working, though I had to run the old 10.6.1 kernel from the bootloader a couple of times before running the final two cp commands. I'm just re-running NetbookInstaller 0.8.3 and I'll reboot.

And yes, everything seems to work fine

What are the chances that a 10.6.3 will come out in a few weeks and re-enable Atom support?

Is it likely that this was a specific anti-hackintosh attack?

I dunno. I had a 10.6.1 VMWare Workstation 7 image on a Windows Vista box running OSX as a guest OS that was disabled upon upgrade to 10.6.2 too :-(

Whether intentional or not it seems Apple is screwing up a lot of Hackintosh people with this OS update.... I will look around to check what the Empire EFI and Rebel EFI folks say....

For now I plan to stick with 10.6.1.....

10.6.2 update worked for me, with the suggestions already mentioned (back up the 10.6.1 kernel and either run off that or copy it back afterwards, and then re-running netbookinstaller 0.8.3 RC3).

Thanks for the tips, everyone!

Can we get our hands on the 10C535 developer beta and check out its kernel? That had Atome upport (the previous beta killed it, and now the final does too.) Maybe that can be the missing link that gets up a freshly up to date kernel with support.

It that kernel doesn't work. None of them have.

While I would be happy to send it to you, Apple has not released it and as such would be a breach of copyright (aka, not going to happen).

So running the beta kernel in 10.6.2 final doesn't work?
