Default still no love for the mini 9 - 10-08-2009, 07:08 AM

after about a month of running SL on the mini 9 with all the quirks, and after another release with no love for the mini 9 im regretably switching back to leopard 10.5.8 ... it seemed like at first alot of progress was being made with snow leopard (and i do appreciate all the work meklort has been doing!) but its starting to seem like meklort is the only person developing this stuff... and after running SL for a month with the same problems everyone is having... Leopard seems like the best bet at a fully functional mini 9 hackintosh... If you havent made the switch to SL yet just be patient and wait till are the quirks are worked out! Dont make my mistake and upgrade to SL only to go back to Leopard after a few weeks... i bought the mini 9 because of how easy it was to put leopard on and after a few weeks SL came out, with the majority of improvements being made to the 10v i almost wish i bought one instead of my mini 9....

Reflecting on this, should I just have replaced the NBI .8.3 RC2 on the USB stick with the new NBI .8.3 RC3 to update my installer?

Thanks for the new RC! Just one question. What's the Extra.bak directory for?

Hi all.

Thanks Meklort for a awesome release, finally I can use my trackpad not sure if this is a specific bug to my install or a general so i'm posting here before adding tot he google code page.

I cannot see images / pdf's in preview and only the 2 standard Apple screensavers seem to be working, the other built-in "Pictures" screensavers say that they will not work with this current version of Mac OSX - only had this since using 0.8.3 RC3

I am on a Mini 10v with a fresh install of 10.6.1 using NBM 0.8.3 RC3

Thanks again

Hello Azrial, don't use the option "mirror friendly GMA-driver" in NetbookInstaller - and you'll see that you can use all screensavers.

Hi Crisu, thanks for the very quick reply. Running NBI again without mirror friendly GMA-driver" checked worked a treat. My n00b colours where showing clearly then

Updated nicely here. No dramas, and even better, the popping noise I was getting at the start of sounds is gone (didn't expect that?).

Thanks!

Status: A little slow to boot. Otherwise perfect!

it sounds like you uploaded the RC3 to your USB drive and tried running it during boot up???

if you have OS X up and running under RC2 then just:
- download RC3 to your HDD (or just your desktop)
- open NBI
- select the options you want
- click go or continue or whatever the button says. it'll take a minute or 4.
- close NBI
- reboot
- check things out: lid sleep it, wake it, check sound @ speakers and headphone jack, etc

you should NOT have to use a USB drive ever again to update NBI if you have OS X running/connected to the internet
