10.5.4 isn't supported.

NetbookInstaller only supports targets runing 10.5.6 and later (including 10.6)

Please excuse if not in the right forum to ask, but..... I'm just starting this process and have no experience with the pitfalls. So far, I have successfully downgraded my BIOS to A04 without issues. Here's a couple questions: Is there a guide/cookbook for doing this with the SL 10.6 'upgrade' disc? I see guides for 10.5.7, etc., but they seem to involve files that are very specific to 10.5.x. If there is one and a method I can follow, could someone point me to it? I pretty much need a cookbook where I can just follow what it tells me.

Thanks!!!

I have a Samsung NC10, with Leopard 10.5.4 installed on it. I followed the exact steps described by MechDrew in the nbi3 manual (http://osx.mechdrew.com/guides/nbi3.shtml)! The only problem I ran into was, appling the 10.5.8 ComboUpdate due to the following error; "the following disk images failed to mount" when opening MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.8. But that shouldn't have caused the problem right?

p.s. this community rocks my world, keep up the good work!

had same prob, i had to go oldschool dellefi just to get to 10.5.8

so 10.5.4 boot123/dellefi then 10.5.8 combo update

I'm a little confused since I just ran into this problem as well.

If I read this thread

http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/gene...-official.html

it implies that I can do NBI .8.2 on 10.5.x installs. Your statement is for 0.8.3 but does that also apply to 0.8.2? I only have a 10.5.1 DVD that I used a while back for DellEFI but I want to run the retail Win 7 and started to follow Mechdrew's method at

Advanced 2: Multi-Boot Configuration | Guides | OS X | mechdrew

I also can't get DMG files to work so I'm wondering how to get around this w/ NBI, or is it impossible w/o a 10.5.6 DVD?

dude like i said i. i had to go oldschool dellefi boot cd/usb to get it working.

all went to hell when i installed 10.6 i dint like the sound issue so i went back to 10.5 but using the new method netbootmaker i got the unmounted drive problem... i have 10.5.4 retail and i guess the nbm only supports 10.5.6 and higher

so i went oldschool with this guide

How To: Hackintosh a Dell Mini 9 Into the Ultimate OS X Netbook - Dell mini 9 hackintosh guide - Gizmodo

then ran comboupdate 10.5.8

This thread is now deprecated because .8.3RC3 is no longer current. Please refer to THIS THREAD about .8.3RC4, which is the most updated and recent version.
