| Junior Member Posts: 2 Join Date: Oct 2009 | My machine info is an Inspiron 910 BIOS A04 Ubuntu 8.04.01 Problem: When I am in the failsafe terminal mode I don't have permission to do a thing. Leading up to getting to the failsafe terminal are the following messages. Also, I can not boot into recovery mode no matter how or how many times I hit "Enter + Escape" real fast. I want to learn from this, and try to salvage with the forums before reinstalling, please help. Error messages Your home directory is listed as:'/home/wagner' but does not appear to exist. Do you want to log in with the / (root) directory as your home directory? It is unless you use a failsafe terminal. I click, Yes User's $HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored. Thid prevents the default sesion and language from being saved... I click OK Now I,m at the terminal, wagner@mars:~$ and no matter what I type I get the error message, >>> sudoers file: syntax error, line 26 <<< sudo: parse error in /etc/sudoers near line 26 wagner@mars:~$ 2009-10-05 09:09:02 1MuoFK-0001KX-Ca Failed to create spoole file /var/spool/exim4/input//1MuoFK-0001KX-Ca-D: Permission denied. It repeates this message twice. Please help. Thank you for you time. |
