Unhappy 10v -- Sleep but no audio part 2 - 09-08-2009, 03:57 PM

So....before i rebuild my system from scratch using the new Netbootmaker and SL DVD, is there some sound drivers i should try?

My current problem was posted last night --- http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/os-x...html#post99366

Thanks for any suggestions.

Am I correct in assuming that on the Dell Mini 9 that sleep does not work with STEC but does work with RunCore?

I have a RunCore 32GB SSD and shutdown/restart and sleep worked right out of the box!

EDIT: Sleep does not.....well actually there's a shortcut and it does go to sleep, but when it wakes up there's no response from the system

Default wpa2 enterprise problem? - 09-08-2009, 05:06 PM

anyone else having trouble with wpa2 enterprise? my mini 9 (2gb, 64gb runcore) is running with 10.6, but I have been having trouble with wpa2 enterprise authentication on wireless. my wireless network is fine and this worked with my previous 10.5.6 install.

Can anyone point out how to enable audio on the Mini 9? The steps above for some reason do not work for me as the IOAudioFamily.kext file from System/Library/BackupExtensions does not exist (no files exist in that folder).....even after I've enable the show hidden files feature.

HELP!

I have this too. It wakes, but nothing works - spinning beachball. If I have a terminal open and try and do things - even ls I get the 'operation not allowed'. It's like the STEC is not coming out of sleep.

Arrow Observations - 09-08-2009, 05:31 PM

After following this thread and updating constantly I am still unable to get a usable 10.6 install.
Now Time Machine does not work. It seems to make the backup but crashes when I try to enter Time Machine.
Also sometimes the system slows to a crawl and becomes unusable.
I must go back to 10.5.8. It worked fine.
I would gladly accept the sound problem now if I could get the rest of it to work.

You can pull IOAudioFamily.kext off of the SL install DVD.

Default IOAudioFamily.kext - 09-08-2009, 05:42 PM

USE only if the real kext is missing... S/L/E or S/L/BE

The missing IOAudioFamily.kext (???) is attached.
