Exact same issues as others with regards to kernel panic. Also doing the same steps though to a 8GB USB, then running the NBM. Then on the 10v booting from the USB & boom KP with same errors as others are reporting. This is a full retail disk I'm using if that helps.

I installed the new NetBookMaker on my 10.6 installer USB stick. Kernel panic booting the installer.

The appleintelcpupower management kext is causing the kernel panic.

I think the permissions on the GeneralExtensions folder are funky.

Permissions:
system: Custom
wheel: Custom
everyone: Custom

I figured it out. An extensions.kext file was not installed by netbookmaker. So I ran MKextTool, created one and dropped it in the /Extra folder on the 10.6 Installer.

OK & which kext(s) did you use to create it?

Can you patch netbookmaker with the correct kext that worked? does that mean you have it running and everything works?

I know it is hard, but have patience. Meklort will have an updated version ASAP. This thread is strictly following his releases at this point. It is great if other members have the gumption to experiment and find out what may be broken... then those fixes could be incorporated into NBM/NBI by meklort.

But, this thread should remain focused on the "official" method and try not to deviate (by posting modified versions of NBM). If you want to post modified versions, do it within the developers subforum or the respective OSX Snow Leopard subforum (this thread)

Carlos is right.

To fix it, you don't need to modify anything. Open your SL install image and go to the /extras folder. You'll see a folder there called GeneralExtensions. If you try and open it, you'll fail. Copy it to your desktop, right click, get info. Click the lock in the bottom right and authenticate. Change all the permissions to the folder to read/write. Open the folder and drop those Kexts into mkexttool and then drop the extensions.mkext it yields into your /extra folder on the SL disk. I'm presently in the installer, will post as to how it goes.

Cheers for that much appreciated. I know I should be patient but I'm itching - anyway installing now
