| Expert Member Posts: 692 Join Date: Mar 2009 | Look in the OS X guides for dual boot setups. XP requires MBR partitioning and Win 7 and Vista are easier to do with MBR although they can use GUD. Its just removing a simple script file the OS X installer runs to determine the type of partitioning. If I remembered what the file was I wouldn't tell you to search but I don't remember. Finally got it to run installer but I guess I have to patch the OSInstall package to install on an MBR partition. Don't know how to do that so I'll wait it out. Everything has worked so far (since around March) I'm happy with my 10.5.8 install. It works well. Will keep watching......... |

When I did it, it repaired what seemed to be about 100 or so file permissions and a lot of them were kext files (basically drivers) so things that weren't working started. Good luck. | |
