Post Installation of Snow Leopard on Mini 10v - 07-19-2009, 07:46 AM

So, later today i am going to make a time machine backup of my current os then try to install os x, if it works ill stay with it, if it doesnt, ill just re install 10.5.7, but just one question, is it better just to do the snow leopard installation by reformating my hdd or should i just do an upgrade

-IDK

I was going to try to install it to an SD card. I do believe the Dell will startup from an SD.
I just need a bigger SD...

The 10v will start up from an sd, the mini 9 and Vostro won't.

Any feedback? How is it working?

This thread is somewhat pointless if all you are going to do is say "I am going to install Snow Leopard" ... "Okay it is working on an external drive" lol

I would love to hear how it is running and working.

I can't get the video to work and reloading the kexts causes a kp, so its buggy as heck. hmm I'm just trying to see how it works before i put it on my HDD.

Snow Leopard isn't going to work because it is Intel 64 Bit only.

it has a hybrid 32/64bit kernel so it will work.

its not 64 only. i have it successfully installed on a 10v and it DOES work. period. got a bunch of hardware issues to iron out, but it works... haven't tried setting up a multiboot with it, but that will be my next project.

it works with almost the same process used for installing leo... except that i used an external DVD drive to boot the snow install DVD.
