| Member Posts: 51 Join Date: Jul 2009 | I know there are bits and pieces scattered here and there, xslimmer, monolingual, etc but could someone make a comprehensive list of everything that can be stripped off osx to maximize space? insluding system files I know ive heard of people removing printer drivers and voices too. I don't even have my a90 yet but im really hyped to put osx on it. Thanks a lot! |

| Member Posts: 59 Join Date: Apr 2009 | This is by far the best guide out there (it's for dual booting, but the slimming section down there is great: http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-...ate-drive.html This gets down in to the nitty gritty and it took out I think like 1.5~2GB for me, and I did a slim install anyway! also http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-...ms-remove.html basically in the end get Trimmit - Eliminating Bloatware Trimmit, and run your apps you won't use much through it, it cuts Mail.app from like 120ish mb down to 20mb it took iTunes from 70mb to 18mb etc etc. -Dell e1705 - New $1055: ATi X1400 OC/ed 175% faster, XPS 1710 Heatsinks, XPS 1710 Body e1705 is old, it needs not to be upgraded, but rather be replaced. |
