11-Once you're in the right place, type fastboot.exe -i 0x413c flash recovery c:\recovery.stock.img and hit Enter.
12-When you see "Download RECOVERY Done!" on the Streak, remove the back cover and pull out the battery.
13-Replace the battery and back cover. Hold the volume up and down buttons down while pressing the power button and choose option 2 from the menu that will appear.
14-Relax for a few minutes and wait for the Streak to reboot. You'll see the O2 splash screen because—drum roll—you've got the stock O2 ROM (build 4399) running on your Streak.

So I have managed to get to step 13 and then I get boned... Once I reboot and choose option 2 "software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD card"

When I select option 2 nothing happens and I get this prompt: "to perform an emergency software recovery, you will need to insert a microsd card containing an update file. (/sdcard/update.pkg)

Arg. Please help. I have the update.pkg file on my sd card. I just dragged and dropped it into the sd card. Do I have it in the wrong place?

In connection to the Win32DiskImager and step 4 as decribed in NetbookInstaller 2: USB Mac Installation via Any Operating System...

In connection to the Win32DiskImager and step 4 as decribed in NetbookInstaller 2: USB Mac Installation via Any Operating System , what is exactly happening here. I have read that you can use a USB HDD for this part. I have an HP Pocket Drive handy, but I am worried that I won't be able to reclaim/reformat the drive when I am done.

I just posted about having issues reformatting my small USB drive. I did this to see if I could, but I am having issues on that regard. Please advice.

Open the Image Writer program (it's called Win32DiskImager in the folder you extracted).

The small USB drive is first. Select the correct drive letter under Device, slect the NBI_083F image under Image File, press Write and then Yes. The Progress indicator will help you know when it is finished.

Now select the large USB drive number, and select the macdvd.img file. Press Write and then Yes; this one will take a bit longer so wait for the progress indicator to finish..

When it is done, close Image Writer and remove the USB drives. Eject the DVD and put it away.

Hi, I am following this guide "NetbookInstaller 2: USB Mac Installation via Any Operating System"

My question is in regards to these steps:

Open the Image Writer program (it's called Win32DiskImager in the folder you extracted).

The small USB drive is first. Select the correct drive letter under Device, slect the NBI_083F image under Image File, press Write and then Yes. The Progress indicator will help you know when it is finished.

I did this process. Now when I try to use the Flash drive on a PC it says it cannot read this format (now it is labeled as FAT). And that I need to to reformat. I reformat and it reformats it to a 47MB Flash drive. It is a 2GB Flash drive. What is happening? I can return my Flash Drive back to normal....I hope?

How would you do this?

I've a complete nuBee on OSX...but i've been reading up and finally bought a 10v (nickelodian edition) bios A06. I also now have a retail DVD Snow Leopard. I dont know anyone with a running MAC, but I do have the external ASUS DVD+RW, so i downloaded boot 132, started it up...
got to the boot prompt, i changed to the snowleopard DVD, hit enter, it said loading DARWIN xxx with a little rotating symbol for about 5 secs and then the symbol disappeared. DVD light wouldnt come on after that either. It just froze.
From the boot prompt, I was able to enter and see the MAC OS INSTALL highlighted. but thats all.
I'm still researching, but i'm kinda at the end of my rope right now. I do have an external 500GB hard drive, if that will help me out...

thanks for all the info

when downloaded some apps to check out the hardware information today, i found out that
so far there is only the review by engadget mentioned about this but without any detail. (just google dell streak review it should come up in the top few results.)

severe dell streak problems - Today, 09:27 PM

I received my first dell streak on 8/18 when after fully charging it and began to use it, all it would do was completely freeze up on me then within a moment or so i'll hear a loud click where it released the screen, it started happening more and more frequently. Then, all of a sudden I started noticing my at&t service lines go way up then way down to no service at all when none of my previous cell phones has ever done that before. I contacted dell and was sent another device out (brand new), I fully charged this second device up, removed the charge cable, went to turn on the device and the only thing that lit up was the 3 indicator lights and no screen, dead as a doornail. I kept trying to tinker with it when the screen came up,long enough for me to place in all my contacts, then all of a sudden the screen started flashing and completely hard re-set itself wiping out all my contacts then went back into its blacked out screen mode on me. I again contacted dell where as I was becoming very frustrated. So now I am being sent still another device out to deal with. My question to any of the roomies here, do any of you feel its all happening because of the elderly OS system within this device. I brought this up to dell when I called them and they stated it just could possibly be since they've been receiving quite a bit of complaints. I really like the dell streak concept however, I honestly feel that dell should've waited and shipped out the upgraded devices. I'm starting to lose interest here. Do any of you think I should give this 3rd device a try or just request a refund and seek something else. Dell ask me to hold on since dell has the upgrade on its way and glitches may be cured.

I wanna get rid of the preinstalled apps off my phone (MP3 Store, Getting Started, etc...), I tried the way you removed installed apps (Copy to homepage, hold and unstalled) Doesnt work. Then I used ASTRO, still doesn't work. Then after some reading I found that you can apparently only do it if you perform a 'Superboot'? Is that true.

Cheers
