Default InvisibleShield - 11-12-2008, 02:54 PM

I have used an InvisibleShield (http://www.zagg.com) on my MacBook Pro, various iPods & Treo SmartPhone, and really appreciate them. It's a bit of a pain to install, but they look great and are almost impossible to mark.

Having said that, they don't have a Mini9 design yet. They could create one . . . if I shipped them my Mini9 and paid a $20 custom surcharge. Think I might have to pass.

Loving this site, my Mini should show up within the week.

I think this would be perfect for the Mini 9. I use their products on my camera and Blackberry. It is very tough stuff and would get rid of the gloss look which I don,t like at all. I just do not want to ship it out.

I wonder if they could make one to fit only the flat part of the top (ie, not wrap around to the corners/sides) that would not require sending the Mini in. And I wonder how it would look if it was only on the top...

I do like the idea, though. The fingerprints are a shame.

The InvisibleShields I have for my devices are often wrapped around the sides. Don't think they'd be able to do that with just the dimensions. I don't want to part with my Mini (should arrive today), ship it across the continent, and pay extra for a product I'm sure they can sell a bunch of.

I just emailed them about possibly making one for the Mini 9 and they told me they would make the shield and send it to me for free. The only thing I'd have to pay for would be shipping to the place. I might do it in the future, but I don't even have mine yet and when I get it I'm going to want to play with it for a few weeks before I even think of sending it in to have one made.

This is probably a nice solution. The good thing about the Zagg's is the installation is really easy:

- spray liquid all over both sides of the shield
- put shield on, mush around until lined up
- leave alone to dry for like 12 hours

So unlike some other products that you can spend AGES getting all the bubbles out with, these are really easy to install. They are comparatively expensive though. I remember somebody mentioning a competitor that had a similar product that was cheaper, but can't remember who they were...
