Default Keyboard Protector For Mini 9 - 04-20-2009, 07:48 PM

So I have this silicone keyboard skin/protector for my MBP:

Although in clear, not in some crazy garish color

Is there one for the Mini 9 that you guys could recommend? I like having them on the keyboard, as I tend to lean over my laptop while I work, and therefore shed a lot. Also, it helps a LOT in keeping the keytops clean and the under-keyboard area free of gunk.

Nobody has any ideas? I see a lot of Mac users with this, so I thought somebody might know something...

There is THIS one...but the image is badly photoshopped (look at the size of the hand in relation to the Mini). But that doesn't mean they've not made one that fits correctly. I don't have one myself, so I can't recommend any particular manufacturer or seller.

All i can think of at the moment is removing the keyboard, wrapping it with clear cellophane, same stuff used to secure tops of bowls or whatnot and then replacing the keyboard. I guess you would need to make sure none of the keys are depressed by the covering but that would be your only problem. Other than someone producing a custom cover for it, your stuck with using a vacuum every now n then to remove the unwanted specks of hair and whatnot from between the keys.

I've found a TON on eBay for the US keyboard version... I just haven't bought one yet because i'm thinking about upgrading to the international version (which I haven't been able to find a skin for).

Here is a link.

I drive a mini, and now I carry a mini with me as well... hehe.

Unlike the MBP, the Dell has a sealed keyboard, so I plan to just use some isopropyl alcohol and lightly swab the tops and sides of the keys every week or so, and use a vacuum to get out any crumbs. Also, my Mini 9 is <$1000, while my MBP is probably worth >$3000.
